This weeks topic was "Moon". I used to listen to a song by Concrete Blonde called "Underneath the Mexican Moon", so I decided to make a mexican-inspired moon! This is a page in my art journal, but I had so much fun with it, I think i'll turn it into a bigger painting with bright, fun fiesta colors!
Two of my drawings were picked for the exhibition at the St Tammany Art Association! Out of 97 artists to enter, I am one of 31 to be included!! Opening night is July 14th, from 6pm-9pm, and the exhibition will be up through August 11th.
We had to do portraits of each other in class and here's how mine turned out! I've entered this and the skull from earlier in a show, so hopefully one of them will get picked for the summer exhibition!
I went to the Covington Cemetary today to take some photographs to use in collages and paintings, etc. I took almost 100 photographs, and so many of them turned out awesome! I decided to post a few of the best ones here. I'll be going Tuesday to the cemetaries in New Orleans with one of the girls from my painting class....I can't wait!
Here are some pics of my 2nd painting. The assignment was to paint a portrait in 4 different color schemes, so I've posted the full painting and then a close up of some of the panels! It's very glitz-eeeee and sparkly! I hope Candice likes it!!
Here's one of the drawings I did today in class.... it's the best skull EVER, if I do say so myself! I need to find something to bring to class, so I'll have new things to draw besides skulls and combat boots!
